About HeyChef!

I don’t cook or work in restaurants. So I got lucky when, on an Alaskan kayak trip, I met and married a private chef from New York. Since 1994, Truckee has been our base camp, where we started our business and raised two children. We consider ourselves true locals, and our customers have come to depend on our deep relationship within the community.

Chef Grog has served and traveled with private clients since the 1980s. He is formally trained at Cordon Bleu and La Varenne Culinary Schools in Paris and at the Culinary Institute of America in his home town of Hyde Park, NY. Over his career, Chef Grog has served U.S. Presidents, celebrities, and Silicon Valley executives in private homes, all with delicious, professional style.

I’ve applied my talents behind the scenes. With experience and degrees in both human resources and risk management, as well as a Certificate in Household and Estate Management from the Starkey International Institute I’ve worked alongside the area’s most talented culinary and hospitality professionals.

In 1997 we founded HeyChef! on one of our family’s core values: the best memories are created at home – at your table, with your loved ones. And now, more than twenty years later, we’re honored that:

  • We continue to receive calls from hosts and hostesses who want to treat friends and loved ones to great in-home events but don’t want to give up their own vacation to do so.
  • We’ve earned the trust of clients who invite us into their homes to create their most special memories.
  • We run a business that showcases the curated talent of professionals who work in the restaurant and hospitality industry in our community.
  • We can give back to our community through our company’s charity partnership with the North Tahoe-Truckee Homeless Services.
