Chef Grog

Co-founder of HeyChef!, chef Grog grew up in Hyde Park, NY, where he attended the CIA and began his career in kitchens at age 15. Gaining depth of knowledge at Cordon Bleu and La Verenne in Park, chef Grog applied his talent to local Tahoe establishments Pacific Crest, Le Petit Pier and more.  Prepaing American, classic French and the world for guests at your table.

Chef Gary

A Truckee original, chef Grog and Gary have worked together since 1996.  Chef Gary is the co-founder of Best of Tahoe Chefs, which benefits Tahoe Forest Cancer Center programs. Earthly Delights and Scrumptious Affairs Catering, San Francisco

Chef Michael

This chef from Disney World's Polynesian Resort has owned/operated three of his own establishments in Hawaii and joined HeyChef! in 2014, adding flavorful art you can sink your teeth into.

Chef Jon

Trained in the ranks, this pastry chef makes every course delicious. With HeyChef! since 2008 this private chef also teaches interactive cooking classes. Plumpjack, Squaw Valley

Chef Brian

Twenty years before the start of HeyChef! in 1996, chef Brian and owner/chef Grog worked shoulder-to-shoulder in private homes of the New York elite. Words fall short when describing the talent, efficiency and style of this exemplary chef. He can place the world on your plate!

Chef David

A storied background, this chef cooked for the Queen of England and Michael Jackson before leaving London and joining HeyChef! in 2013. Jamaican, European, American, Caribbean and fusion specialties. Hard Rock Café and five-star hotels Londoner, Churchill and Britannia, London, UK.

Chef Vanessa

Tahoe native and an avid traveler, Chef Vanessa specializes in Brazilian fusion. Vanessa attended Universidad Estadual de Goias, in Brazil, where she received her formal culinary training. In addition she served as the head chef at Pousada O Casarao in Pirenopolis, Goias and has worked along side the famous Chef Grog. 

Chef Jason

Chef Jason grew up in a Sicilian Italian family and worked in the industry at a young age. In 2009 Jason moved to the Tahoe area and accepted the Executive Chef position for Tahoe Mountain Club where he became well known for his seasonal and ingredient driven menus at the club's flagship restaurants, Wild Goose in Tahoe Vista, and the private ski lodge, Schaffer's Camp, on top of North Star ski resort.  Jason worked with local chefs in the community raising awareness for the hunger relief agency, Project Mana, as well as for the Best of Tahoe Chefs.

Chef Michele

Raised by a restaureurs, Michele has been on the team of award-winning restaurants from Napa to San Francisco in the front and back of the house. Staging, timing, guest focus and lobster feeds are her specialties. Schaffer's Camp, Old Greenwood, Wild Goose.

Chef Sue

Motivated by her passion for health and fitness, Sue's cooking centers around dietary restrictions and nutrition. National Gourmet Institute for Health & Culinary Arts, New York. Stella Restaurant, Truckee.

Chef Jacques

There's so much to say about this culinary gentleman.  He's not literally on our staff, but his influence is so far reaching he's practically in every dish we serve. After training in Paris, Chef Jacques moved to the United States, where he worked as a chef in top restaurants, and later as a restaurant owner. He began hosting cooking shows in the 1990s, and in 2001, he won an Emmy Award for a series with Julia Child. He's written more than 20 books and continues to host shows on PBS.

Chef Alix

Alix comes from a winemaking background (France and California) and was lead chef for a cooking program serving the disadvantaged in Seattle, WA. She has a passion for making her clients feel comfortable with every aspect of an event, whether assisting with the wine selection, beer and spirits or efficiently and gracefully accommodating special needs that may arise during a party. Alix is comfortable scaling her talents from and informal picnic on the beach to a formal dinner announcing a business merger.

Chef Adam

Throughout his career, Adam’s Philipino and Samoan roots influence his delicious, wholesome cooking which features the best sustainably-sourced produce, seafoods and meats, brightened by unique ingredients and spices from around the world.  Chef Adam comes from the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe, Deer Valley, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Chef Tommy

Chef Tommy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to your dining table. He is well-versed in exotic food preparation and equally comfortable with simple, straight-forward cooking. He has a passion and respect for quality, wholesome ingredients.

Chef David

Chef David attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY on top of spending six years working under top chefs at Wolfgang Puck's Postrio in San Francisco. With 30 years of experience he is well versed in numerous cuisines including, but not limited to, Mediterranean, Asian and French. Wolfgang Puck's Postrio, Wild Goose, Tahoe Mountain Club, Schaffer's Camp Restaurant, Evergreen.

Chef Joshua

A west coast native, Chef Josh lived in Seattle and Southern Oregon before settling in Lake Tahoe. Sushi is his forte with an emphasis on sustainable local and regional ingredients. Mamasake, Mikuni, Morgan's Lobster Shake

Chef Michael P.

Chef Michael Plapp has been creating and serving exceptional food in the finest restaurants in the Tahoe area for the last 16 years. Chef Plapp's cuisine can be described as contemporary American with a focus on traditional, regional cuisines. He's well versed in modern cooking techniques, and enjoys presenting his food in a simple, natural style using the finest locally sourced ingredients available.

Chef Remy the Rat

Unknown in the Paris culinary scene until he was discovered in 2007 at legendary Gasteau's by famous critic Anton Ego.
